Overview
AI can now draft your notes, suggest home programs, and generate patient education in seconds. So why do so many patients still struggle to follow through?
In this recorded webinar, Hélène Thériault and Tamara Shih argue that the missing piece was never information: it was the conversation. They make the case for a Coach Approach, a set of skills any healthcare professional can use to help patients move from knowing what to do to actually doing it. You'll see what that conversation looks like in practice, then unpack it step by step.
Learning Objectives
In this online course, we will:
- Define what coaching is, and what it isn't, in a clinical setting
- Observe a coaching demonstration and break down the skills used in the debrief
- Explore the Coaching Spectrum Framework™ and how it applies to your practice
- Identify where the human conversation adds value that AI tools can't replace
Audience
This course is built for allied health professionals who want patients to own their progress between visits. It's a fit for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, kinesiologists, nurses, and clinic owners who lead teams as well as treat patients. No coaching background is needed. If you're already using AI tools in your practice, or wondering where they fit, this session gives you a clear view of the skills that stay in your hands.
Why This Course Matters
Most practitioners already know what their patients need to do. The harder part is the conversation that helps a patient decide to do it. As AI takes on more documentation and content creation, that human skill becomes a bigger part of what sets your care apart. A Coach Approach gives you a structured way to ask better questions, build ownership, and support follow-through in a way that fits a busy caseload. This session is a practical place to start.
Keep Building the Skill
Want to go further than one session? Staying Human in an AI-Assisted Practice is a six-month live cohort with Hélène and Tamara that includes live sessions, office hours, and a practitioner community. Participants who complete the full cohort earn the Coach Approach in Healthcare Professional Certificate and a digital badge.
